International Women's Day 2018

It has been another exciting and busy IWD.

It started with some awesome Fed Square stats and programming.

More than 55% of our staff, including 60% of our executive team and 50% of our Board are women. And throughout the day we played a series of short films which focused on this year's IWD theme Press for Progress.

Well done Fed Square. It is great to work at a company that is truly embracing equality in all its forms and showing tangible results.

Then is was off to an engaging and often funny debate at the Institute of Managers and Leaders lunch, focused on the topic The Future is Female.

Well done to Michelle Gibbings for a thought provoking key note speech.

With the workplace becoming more flexible and independent we all (not just women) need to take the time to consider how to stay relevant.

Michelle's latest book Career Leap is an insightful and practical guide to assessing where you are in your career and what your next options could be.

Finally the day was rounded off with the Facilities Management Association's International Women's Day site tour of the State Library Victoria.

A huge thank you to the wonderful State Library staff who shared the details of their ambitious $83 million re-imaging of the State Library through Vision 2020.

We were lucky enough to have the library's project managers walk us around the library as they explained the grand new function spaces, kids corner and start up support space being constructed.

We can't wait to come back in spring 2019 to see the works in their completed form.

A very big thank you to Louise Rowe and Anna Glassick for their help organising the event.
