Sharon Pollard is a leader in the fields of Safety and Emergency Preparedness, Environmental Sustainability, Management of Facilities (hard and soft) and Building and Infrastructure Asset Management.
In her role as Chief Operating Officer at Federation Square, Sharon regularly draws on these skills to oversee Capital Asset Planning and Replacement, Environmental Sustainability, Security and Emergency Management, OH&S, Accessibility, Planned and Reactive Maintenance, Tenancy Management, Cleaning and Waste Management.
Under Sharon’s guidance Federation Square’s Operations team won two national awards both of which recognise leadership and innovation in the management, operation and maintenance of Australia’s built environment. These two awards speak to Sharon’s passions around Environmental Sustainability and, Safety and Emergency Preparedness.

As an active advocate for the Facilities Management industry Sharon is a Board member of the Facility Management Association of Australia and sits on their National Diversity and Inclusion Portfolio Group (awarded Committee of the Year 2018).
Under Sharon's chairmanship the FMA's Victorian Committee was awarded Committee of the Year 2019 and she was recognised by the FMA as Committee Member of the Year in 2016.
Sharon is a 2017 alumni of the Committee for Melbourne's Future Focus Group business and civic leadership program. This two year program develops Melbourne's future leaders so they can better influence the decisions around ensuring our city remains inclusive and prosperous.
As part of this program Sharon worked on a project called Equal Crossings. This project was supported by VicRoads and focused on establishing a visible 1:1 male and female representation at pedestrian traffic lights throughout Melbourne to promote gender equality, reduce unconscious bias and stimulate public discussion.
